Modio Health Joins the CHG Healthcare Family of Companies

Expanding reach of physician credentialing technology with leading healthcare staffing company

Physician credentialing and licensing is one of the most critical processes in healthcare: a physician can’t see patients if they don’t have the proper credentials. A slow or inaccurate credentialing process creates major roadblocks for patients trying to access care and for physicians and healthcare organizations trying to operate efficiently.

At Modio Health, we pride ourselves in creating a product that works to make healthcare delivery more seamless, safe, effective, and accessible.

Today, we are thrilled to announce that Modio is joining CHG Healthcare, an innovative healthcare staffing company that founded the locum tenens staffing industry and today impacts more than 25 million patients each year. Given the provider shortages rampant across the country and the challenges of physician burnout, the flexibility locum tenens offers providers and healthcare organizations is more important than ever before.

Modio and CHG are combining forces to improve credentialing for CHG employees and the thousands of providers and healthcare facilities it works with, making the process faster, safer, and more cost-effective. As private companies, terms of this acquisition are not being disclosed.

“We’re thrilled to add Modio’s outstanding people and credentialing and career-management tools to CHG’s family of companies,” says David Baldridge, chief strategy officer of CHG Healthcare. “Each year, CHG credentials thousands of healthcare providers and Modio shares our commitment to improving the credentialing experience for employees, providers, and healthcare facilities.”

“CHG shares our mission to vastly improve the process of managing provider credentialing data and workflows,” says Kirk Heath, CEO and founder, Modio Health. “We have an amazing opportunity to reduce the cost of care for healthcare organizations and improve safety and value for patients.”

Founded in 2014, Modio serves more than 400 clients across the country including hospitals, medical groups, MSOs, revenue cycle firms, and pharmacies. After the acquisition by CHG, Modio will keeps its name, leadership team, and 30 employees based in San Francisco and Virginia Beach, VA.

“CHG has set the stage for flexible, modernized medicine,” says John Bou, COO and co-founder, Modio Health. “We’re very excited about the opportunities this partnership brings as we integrate Modio’s technology with CHG’s deep knowledge of the industry and its large network and reach.”
